PASES Aqua Project 1
This divided 5m x 3.5m pool features natural filtration that brings biodiversity to swimming leisure. Free from chlorine and other chemicals usually used to control water quality, PASES Aqua has cleverly utilised plants that naturally filter water impurities on the edges of the pool. The result is a wildlife pool that brings the homeowner closer to nature. The pool is perfect as a natural water feature, or a snorkelling experience – homeowners and guests can view the diverse living elements that contribute to a natural water system.
Inspired by wetlands, PASES Aqua has landscaped the pool surrounds with native plants such as the Coast Daisy Bush, Kangaroo Paw, and Cats Paw for a poolside retreat that showcases the beauty of Australian flora. Edged with limestone coping, earthy tones are contrasted against the crystal-clear water.
Avoiding chemical filtration, the team at PASES Aqua developed a special combination of natural filtration using vegetation, macroinvertebrates, and an innovative artificial system to maintain the pool’s balance. This pool becomes a unique addition to the client’s backyard and is able to support small quantities of aquatic life such as fish, tadpoles, and frogs if the client desires.
Integrating the combined elements of natural filtration and inherent biodiversity, the pool absorbs and stores carbon dioxide from our atmosphere to sustain micro-organisms. Through pipes attached to the pool, excess water can be used for irrigation in other parts of the garden. In every sense of the phrase, PASES Aqua have created a swimming experience without the carbon footprint.
