Oasis Pools Project 5
While some pool builders would have balked at the challenge of this sloping, rocky site, Oasis Pools jumped at the opportunity, completing a stunning above-ground design, which overlooks Roleystone Valley.
A stunning infinity edge ensures the pool is a truly magnificent addition to the home. The pool’s submerged bench is thoughtfully positioned to offer the perfect place for the homeowners to relax and watch the sun go down over the eucalyptus forest below. Two soft blue LED lights from Spa Electrics highlight the infinity edge, and ensure the pool remains a gorgeous feature by day and night.
The complex project was realised with the help of extensive earthworks to remove large rocks and mitigate the soft clay soil. In order to form an entirely self-supporting pool structure, sturdy piles were sunk into the ground with a concrete base constructed atop them; sub-soil drains were also incorporated. Finally, after the foundational aspects of the design were catered to, the steel and concrete pool shell was constructed.
To achieve a vibrant blue water colour, Oasis Pools tiled the pool interior with Duraquartz’s ‘Indian Blue’ and a darker waterline tile for emphasis. The same waterline tiles are featured in the infinity edge’s overflow zone, along with an ebony pebble interior, creating a pleasing contrast to the main pool.
Quality materials are on show throughout this magnificent project, with the retaining wall a particularly striking addition. Far from being a purely structural feature, the wall’s sandy-coloured stackstone composition ensures the pool sits harmoniously in its natural surrounds, while the pale tiles selected for the coping echo the stairs and railings to ensure visual cohesion.
A full suite of equipment from Zodiac was cleverly installed under the home’s existing decking, including a saltwater chlorinator and a Z300 heat pump to ensure the pool is enjoyable year-round.
This second project saw Oasis Pools work not with a difficult slope, but high above the ground instead. The team constructed two gorgeous spas on the first floor of a high-rise building in Perth.
Oasis Pools worked collaboratively with a large team of professionals to demolish the pre-existing leaky concrete spas, and transform the outdoor area into an ideal space for residents. The transportation process was particularly complex; transporting the required materials to the site involved the use of a mobile crane that was situated within an adjacent carpark. Likewise, wheelbarrows full of materials were relocated manually via internal lifts.
These generous spas feature multiple high-performance aerated jets in the walls and seats for a truly luxurious experience. The jets are controlled by a simple push-button switch, and a timer was also included in the design for convenience.
The alluring mix of interior mosaic tiles offers a surprise at night when they glow softly, providing a truly magical relaxation experience. Durable porcelain tiles were selected for the coping, and the warm limestone finish echoes the materials used for the nearby feature wall, creating a pleasing continuity.
