TOP OF THE WORLD

Soaring 9 metres above ground level, this brilliant achievement from Graziani Pools + Landscape features 20 lineal metres of infinity edge alongside a wading deck, overflow pool and a series of koi ponds. The pool is stunning by night, with strip lighting illuminating the water on the external walls. The results can only be described as pure luxury.

The customer’s vision was to look outside his home and for the pool to disappear into the landscape and river beyond. To achieve this, a custom-made blend of black and navy glass pebbles was used to reflect the environment and showcase the surrounding river, sky and trees.

To safely house the large koi fish, a wooden walkway and bridge was built over the pond. The bridge acts as shade for the fish and a hiding place from birds and predators. The pond has been tiled in a 600 x 600 mm large format black tile to match the pool and give the appearance of one body of water.

The pool and pond water were separated by a dividing wall, to ensure no contamination between the bodies of water could occur. Waterblades cascade into the koi pond, so the sound of water and the movement of koi fish brings a pleasurable experience to the design.

Many challenges had to be overcome in the creation of this masterpiece, and it will come as little surprise that Graziani Pools + Landscape has won the SPASA 2023 National Pool of the Year Award, marking the team that pulled this design together as an exceptional group of experts in the industry.
