Capturing 180-degree water and city views, the featured home is positioned in an exquisite location and demanded an exceptional pool to suit. To achieve this, the homeowners called on Blue Stone Pools – specialists in the construction of pools on difficult sites and waterfront vistas.
The 13m x 1.8m concrete lap pool was designed by Blue Stone Pools in conjunction with the homeowners and the home’s architect from Giorgi Exclusive Homes. It features an infinity edge design and an adjoining island spa. The spa with reclined seats was made a standout feature of the project by the use of imported, handmade glass iridescent gold tiles that glisten in the light as the water cascades over the extra wide seating/ entry ledge.
By incorporating steps, landings and planters, the team at Blue Stone Pools was able to maximise the pool area without reducing the rear entertaining space. The pool entry steps cleverly wrap around the spa and lead into the lap pool, which allows for easy access. The entrance also acts as a wading area for little ones as the homeowners’ family grows.
Blue Stone Pools made use of the underground water harvesting tanks for pool top-up, and solar energy panels for eco-friendly heating. Hayward filters and pumps together with a state-of-the-art Puresilk water management system were also used, as well as Spa Electrics LED lights, making the pool highly energy-efficient and practical.
Grant Osborne, owner of Blue Stone Pools has been in the pool industry for the last 20 years and has been building pools for six years. The homeowners of the featured pool specifically requested that Grant be their pool contractor for the job as he had built their previous pool, and they made the right decision, as the pool has already been awarded with an international design and construction award.
