Oasis Pools Project 3

This 15m x 6m, above-ground pool was expertly designed by Gil Howard from Oasis Pools and engineered by Mark Edwardes from Scott & Associates. With jarrah decking encasing three sides of the pool, the space is perfect for relaxation and entertaining.

Covered with various trees, shrubs and large boulders, the sloping site required extensive excavating before construction of the pool began. Oasis Pools constructed the pool’s concrete shell, which required additional steel and thicker concrete. The pool’s interior features Duraquartz plaster in ‘Cayman’ from Kirkside Products for a welcoming hue.

The western side of the pool includes an infinity edge with a water feature, as well as a submerged mosaic wall. The pool’s raised position means fencing is not required on this side, which permits the infinity edge to showcase the lush bushland and city outlook. Constructed with neutral-coloured stacked stones from Australis Pavestones, the water feature has a natural aesthetic and provides a relaxing atmosphere.

The pool’s circular mosaic design from The Pool Tile Company features three dolphins that represent each of the clients’ children. The cream-coloured tiles from Osborne Ceramic Centre, which are positioned along the waterline and infinity edge, were selected by the clients themselves. Stone bullnose pavers and coping in ‘Madagascar Gold’ from Australis Pavestone provide a beach-themed appeal to the outdoor space. The overflow gutter’s interior is coated with a sandy-coloured Skypebble finish in cohesion with the project’s natural aesthetic.

Fitted with two separate Zodiac 460 cartridge filters and two high-performance variable-speed pumps, which are connected to two Tri-XO salt chlorinators, the pool will remain pristine. A commercial-sized Zodiac 35kW heater and Interlliheat Controller were hardwired by Live N Up Electrical to ensure the pool stays warm and welcoming throughout the year. A Cooke Industries Water Witch top-up system and a Zodiac Aqualink controller were also installed to make maintenance easy for the clients.
