Oasis Pools Project 6
This beautiful lap pool is a perfect example of the very latest product range available by Oasis Pools, open for display at pool builder and company owner Gil Howard’s personal residence.
This heated concrete display pool is designed to suit a large colonial-style home in the leafy hills’ suburb of Roleystone, situated in the Araluen Golf Course estate. Its parallel placement to the colonial-style verandah means it can be visually appreciated from the bedrooms and the front terrace, making an instant statement as you approach the house.
With a depth of 1.45 metres and length of 10, the pool is perfect for aqua fitness enthusiasts who want to do laps – the depth gives swimmers plenty of room to do tumble turns at each end. Large steps to enter and exit the pool are located on the wider edge outside of the swimming lane so as not to disrupt the flow.
The five steps provide a sense of safety, with shallow 250mm risers to help older members of the family access the pool. These steps also make a great play area for smaller children so everyone can enjoy time in the pool. For safe and easy access, a wide bench seat sits on the opposite side.
To complement the timeless colonial-style house, the visually pleasing non-slip paving surrounding the pool is French pattern African stone supplied by Australis Pavestones. Contrasting with this light grey are the beautiful multicoloured mosaic waterline tiles, selected by Gil’s wife and artist Raechell Howard. Dura Quartz ‘Classic White’ marble forms the pool’s interior surface and provides a soft, natural water colour.
This aquatic delight can be enjoyed well into the evening with two LED pool lights controlled by the Aqualink remote control handset. This controller also operates the MagnaPool magnesium mineral sterilisation system in the filtration plumbing, which contains potassium and magnesium as a bonus health benefit.
A proud distributor of Zodiac pool products, Oasis Pools has included several to keep its creation up-to-date, easy to maintain and even easier to enjoy. The solar-powered Zodiac Z400 MD8 electric heater makes swimming possible year-round, and no one will need to lift a finger with the Zodiac Vortex-Pro robotic cleaner and caddy.
Elite Pool Covers supplied a high-quality thermal blanket that covers the pool to maintain the heated pool water when it’s not in use. One person can effortlessly operate the cover system without assistance, which is stored discreetly in an underground hideaway box flush with the paving at the end of the pool.
Frameless glass barricading was installed along the verandah fence to meet safety regulations without sacrificing the original fencing that wraps around the rest of the house, a subtle and clever choice. The rest of the pool area is contained by metal fencing and rustic rock retaining walls. Australian native hedges will create a privacy screen along the front once fully grown and add a touch of vibrant green.
