PHASE3 Landscape Construction Project 2

For this project, the homeowners wanted their new pool and landscaping to balance harmoniously with the strong architecture of their three-storey home. PHASE3 Landscape Construction expertly achieved this by creating a welcoming garden that doubles as a recreation space for the homeowners’ ever-growing family.

Concrete materials were used throughout the design, including the feature bands of the terrace paving, as well as the concrete steps that lead to the lower garden. The material palette is simple, with subtle textures. Light-coloured limestone pavers were selected to contrast with the off-form concrete. Pacific teak was used for the sun deck, as well as the feature blade walls, which emphasise the site’s lines, create a beautiful backdrop for plantlife, and provide privacy from neighbouring backyards.

The heritage home’s red bricks were recycled to create spectacular rustic feature walls within the garden and around the palm tree, which is a remnant from the original colonial garden. A large frangipani and snow pear tree were also craned into place to provide an immediate sense of scale and impact.

The pool’s design includes an upstand-wall, which negotiates the split levels below. Mosaic tiles were selected for the wall and continue around the waterline of the pool. These textural tiles enhance the tones that feature within the home and in the surrounding landscaping.

Designing the transition from the alfresco to the lower-pool area and lower terrace posed a unique challenge to the team at PHASE3 Landscape Construction. The team overcame this with finesse by incorporating a series of floating precast concrete stairs that gradually cascade down each level.

PHASE3 Landscape Construction is a multi-award-winning team of landscape architects who are dedicated to providing exceptional design outcomes for their clients. The team believes that great design will provide their clients with timeless living spaces that maximise functionality.
