Tim Davies Landscaping Project 2
With its cottage architecture and charm, this gorgeous home, built in 1898, needed an outdoor space to match. Tim Davies Landscaping was enlisted to design and build an area in which the existing trees, wisteria and citrus would look at home. Partial to a classic palette of green and white, the clients provided Tim Davies Landscaping with a detailed brief, along with some images for inspiration.
Shaded by ancient jacaranda and carob trees, the garden’s sloping landscape was utilised by leaving the end wall of the pool exposed. This has created an intimate sunken area, and conversation pit – a perfect hangout for the clients’ teenaged children. The rectangular pool, installed by Future Pools, is surrounded by a hedge that is styled as a moat. This simultaneously separates the pool from the lawn and eliminates the need for a fence, while still adhering to the Building Code of Australia (BCA).
A custom corten and bluestone koi pond, designed by Flux Impressions, trails down one side of the yard and wraps around one of the original jacarandas, giving the illusion of the tree sprouting from the water. Strategic outdoor lighting illuminates the pool and trees at night, casting leafy shadows on the fences. An extended pergola and mahogany timber deck, installed by Seabreeze Outdoor, overlooks the entire area – the perfect spot to relax and soak up the serenity.
