Tim Davies Landscaping Project 7

Designed by Martine Holland from Tim Davies Landscaping in conjunction with Webb & Brown-Neaves, this display home features a stylish garden that creates visual interest and blends with the theme of the house. The sleek white lines of the home and garden are in the style of the famous Raffles Hotel in Singapore. Tim Davies Landscaping has incorporated custom timber seats to match the home’s window frames. Bluestone and granite cobble paving has been used for the alfresco and pool areas and steel water features and wall hangings provide striking detail.

The garden landscape can be viewed from within the house; it draws the eye out and gives a very spacious look to the home. Passive solar principles were applied to keep the garden functional in all seasons and to meet the green star rating. Deciduous trees were planted on the northern side to provide shade in summer and sun in winter, while the pool was situated to capture the sunshine. A cantilevered steel trellis with wisteria links the pool space to the alfresco, while providing shade to the bench seat underneath during summer.

Other passive solar/water-saving features used in the design include sub-surface irrigation, synthetic turf, and areas of gravel mulch. The front of the yard has been landscaped predominantly with native plants to tie in with the surrounding environment and to meet the conditions of the local council.
