Nestled in the rocky hills of Perth, this project proved to be tricky from the outset, due to the home’s foundation of rock and clay. The clients wish was to create a lagoon-style pool that fit into the property’s rural surrounds, however, its precarious positioning added difficulty to the project. A search for a pool design company that specialised in unique and complex projects led them to The Water’s Edge.

The company responded with a dramatic infinity-edge pool that included a swim up bar and beach entry ideal for a relaxed, holiday-at-home lifestyle. The result is a spectacular pool with features to envy, that also won the 2015 Gold for natural pools over $100,000 at Western Australia’s Swimming Pool and Spa Associations Awards.

In order to blend the pools design with the surrounding property, company director Steve Nener planted an assortment of foliage for soft landscaping. Nener also built two raised garden beds around the perimeter of the pool, using Jimbarren limestone spores imported from Bali. This proved to be essential in the integration of the pool with the adjoining landscape.

The Water’s Edge created a tropical feel showcasing palm trees and lush greenery foliage around the pool. Underwater LED lighting was incorporated to enhance the natural design features and has resulted in an aesthetically pleasing outdoor entertainment area.

In addition to the garden beds and foliage, a massive 15 tonnes of moss rock was ordered to create the stunning waterfall. The deliberate choice to use moss rock further authenticates the property’s rural setting, as well as rounding out the aesthetic of this little slice of paradise.
